My native language is Czech. I always try to remain competitive while keeping the quality. For your convenience, prices are listed in euros, US dollars and British pounds. Quotations in different currencies are possible on request. All my prices are negotiable, especially for very large projects or projects coming in smaller amounts throughout longer periods (i.e. for a long-term cooperation).
Localization and Translation services
In a nutshell, translation basically means language conversion of a source text from one language to another while keeping the same meaning. Localization is a translation of a source text into the target language with adaptation of its content for a specific country or region. I always produce maximum possible quality, which always includes that kind of adaptation, as it is absolutely necessary for majority of jobs. Freely check my FAQ for more information on this topic.
For most of my translation and localization tasks I use SDL Trados Studio 2015/2017 or memoQ 8 to achieve maximum possible consistency and quality. Click here for more information about CAT Tools.
Below you can find list of prices for translations from English into Czech and Czech into English language combinations.
Type of Job | Source Language | Target Language | Price per Source Word | Price per Standard Page | Currency |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Translation | English | Czech | € 0.090 | € 27.0 | EUR |
Translation | Czech | English | € 0.12 | € 36.0 | EUR |
Standard page is defined as 1,800 characters including spaces (approximately 280 words). Please note, that I charge all translations requiring CAT tools (Trados Studio, memoQ etc.) only per source word.
Daily output – I can translate on average 2,500 words a day. While maximum being 3,600 words and minimum 2,000 words (for very difficult projects), please keep in mind that in order to maintain adequate quality, you should always count with the middle value or a bit less to allow for proper proofreading or other necessary works.
Minimum fee is equivalent to 280 words charge. This applies usually only to one-time orders.

Proofreading services
I provide proofreading of Czech language (either of Czech translation from English language or a Czech text alone). Proofreading is the process of reviewing a text for errors such as spelling, grammar, punctuation, basic formatting, and typing errors. Translations can be reviewed in comparison to the original text or just alone. See the pricing below.
Type of Job | Price per Word | Price per Standard Page | Currency |
---|---|---|---|
Proofreading of Czech language (including comparison with the original English text) | € 0.03 | € 9.0 | EUR |
Proofreading of Czech language (only the target text, no comparison with any original) | € 0.02 | € 6 | EUR |
Standard page is defined as 1,800 characters including spaces (approximately 280 words). Please note, that I charge all jobs requiring CAT tools (Trados Studio, memoQ etc.) only per source word.
Daily output for proofreading is quite difficult to assess, especially because it depends on the quality of the text. Generally speaking it would be between 8,000 to 10,000 words a day.

How is the cost of the job determined?
The final cost of the given job usually depends on the following aspects:
- Volume of the job (number of words or pages).
- Urgency of the job (I may apply surcharges for overnight and weekend works – this will always be negotiated in advance).
- Format of the source text (for example transcription of a hard copy or preparation of the source text for processing via CAT tools – these requirements will be always discussed in advance).
Payment Conditions
I accept payments by regular bank transfers (bank account in Czech Republic), Paypal or Moneybookers without any surcharges.
